The KX-910 has a Super Ferrite Head, Auto Shut-off, and Dobly-B. A 3-digit counter. Memory. 2 VU meters. There are 3 LEDs for Peak, Record, and Dolby NR. There are push buttons for Chrome/Auto tape selection, Memory on/off, ALC on/off, FM/Copy on/off, Dolby NR on/off. Cassette tape controls are Eject, Stop, Pause, Record, Review (fast-rewind), Play, Cue (fast-forward).
For recording, there are slide-controls for L-R microphone input from the front L-R RCA jacks, as well as slide-controls for the L-R Line-In input (rear Line-In jacks). For playback output, there are slide-controls for L-R Line-Out sound (rear Line-Out jacks). Also at the front right is an RCA headphone jack for listening. Also at the rear, there is a REC/Play 5-pin DIN.
With the rear Line-Out jacks, cassettes could be played into an amp/receiver, which would then play through speakers. The Line-Out jacks, with the correct cables, could also feed into a PC's Line-In sound jack for the digital recording of cassettes, which then could be made into playlists or burned to CDs. With the rear Line-In jacks, music on a PC, AM/FM radio, or record player, could be recorded to cassette.
Overall, the casing is in fair condition, with some dings here and there. Some of the laminate has broken away. The thin metal strip along the front needs to be glued back in place, as well as the front areas of the top metal cover.
I removed the cover underneath and vacuumed out dust and lint. The belt had fallen apart into various pieces and had turned to strips of black goo, which I removed and cleaned from the unit.
This unit powers up, with both VU needles engaging. But with no belt, none of the functions could be tested. Belt replacement kits can be found on eBay or online in general, as well as service and user manuals.
