hello there! i have three beautiful female chinchillas for re homing, one is a pink/white, and the other are standard greys. the white one and the smaller grey one are actually a mother daughter duo and it wont be an issue if they're together however the bigger grey one needs to stay by herself they're not mean to each other but because its a mother daughter duo i dont want to see anyone get defensive and hurt.
you need to have a BASIC knowledge of chinchillas if ill consider you.
things you absolutely need to know - they cannot have nuts, seeds, fruits or vegetables they cannot correctly process them IT WILL KILL YOUR CHINCHILLAS.
the only bedding you will need is anti- pill fleece its super easy to clean and if they chew on it it will not cause blockages DO NOT USE WOOD/PINE/PAPER BEDDING'S ONLY USE FLEECE you can get it from walmart its cheap.
also they cannot have ANY plastic in their cage (including their cage) so stay away from that they will chew on it and die a miserable death.
give them timothy hay and Selective chinchilla food or oxbow (you can get both at petco the brand selective is so much better than oxbow) they need a dust bath every 3 days leave it in there for only 10-15 minutes and make sure its in a well ventilated area.
THEY LOVE TO CHEW so make sure you give them tons of safe woods and lava bites to chew on! (petco has lava bites/stones, wood layer cakes)
DO NOT PUT THEM ON A WHEEL OR IN A BALL IT WILL BREAK THEIR LEGS OR THEIR BACK, THEY ALSO OVER HEAT INSANELY EASILY SO MAKE SURE ITS NOT TO HOT AND THERES PLENTY OF AIR FLOW.
they are prey animals so because I'm giving them to new owners andthey will be skiddish at first - a great way to befriend your new chinchilla is put them in a safe area ( a play pin, the bathroom thats fully cleaned, the kitchen etc) lay down and let them jump on you/explore you do not touch or push them while they're playing just lay there feel free to get on your phone it doesn't matter just be soft and gentle when handling them i suggest doing this at least an hour a day, give oats as treats (no sugar added just basic oats) and eventually they'll warm up to you it took me a month to get mine to run up to the front of the cage and jump on me. they're wonderful pets and friends!
also please get a ferret nation/critter nation cage that is the correct size for a chinchilla if you have anything smaller and dont plan on upgrading please don't waste my time. they need alot of room!
also if you have kids i kinda require they're on the older side of the scale only because kids tend to grab to hard they are sensitive loving creatures and this isn't a spur of the moment buy that you get annoyed with or bored of a week later this is a 15 year commitment that requires you to actually give a shit about the animal.
ages - the white one is 2 years old, the bigger grey one is a year and the smaller one is only 12 weeks old.
the one where im wearing the blue shirt is the 12 week old the other grey one the one thats a year.
serious knowledgeable inquiries only. re homing fees -100 for baby, 70 for the 2 year old, and 80 for the 1 year old. i also have a critter nation cage that's gently used that could go with them and thats 200.
i will accept 400 for all 3 chinchillas + cage
